We are accountants who think like entrepreneurs. We
are members of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and have obtained our qualifications working for KPMG and PwC in London. We started off as trainee auditors. From early on we were exposed to prestigious UK businesses and got to speak to finance teams and senior finance professionals across various industries learning about their challenges and goals. When we obtained our qualifications, we moved on to due diligence work where our client base were mostly private equity firms or large multinationals who were buying other businesses. We would go through the finances of the target businesses with a fine tooth comb and report back any areas which could affect valuation, would be deal breakers, or generally describe the performance of the business, risks and opportunities. We would normalise the earnings and point out any areas where profits could be improved. This was absolutely invaluable experience and one we treasure to this day. The fundamental analytical skills obtained from Big Four due diligence team are second to none. The information that can be unearthed when looking at companies' finances is fascinating. Often even surprising to people who own and run the company.
We also have experience in management consulting streamlining processes which is absolutely valuable when you are trying to maximise your profits or restructure.
We then moved on to the world of Small and Medium sized Enterprises (SME) when working in the private equity house investing in SMEs and in start-ups.
Having the entrepreneurial spin on our job was exciting as we worked with the business owners and the CEOs to grow their businesses. This is where we pride ourselves and think we stand out as accountants with entrepreneurial spin. When you ask us a question we will try to understand why you ask the question and how can the outcome impact your business.
